Janet and Steve's Garden

For anyone who happens to have stumbled across this blog in the hope of finding insights to the meaning of life, serious discourse on matters of great import or any sharp wit, then you've certainly come to the wrong place. This is just a simple diary of one couple's gardening experiences, published so that family and friends can see the garden develop.

We'll start from with looking from the patio down the new path towards the house. The "exotic" border to the right is really lush ... a benefit of the wet season we've had perhaps, with the banana grove looking particularly splendid.

To the left of the path, over the top of the pond towards the bog garden. The Clematis on the fence have given a rather grand show. Really quite pleased witn the Ligularia, too. It just sits there flowering and drawing little comment, but I really rather like it.

Next to the front of the patio - a delightful mix of colours and textures.

The view(s) from the swing. 'tis lovely. too.

The "prairie border". This from the conservatory entrance.

Looking towards the swing from the decking
Define "a riot of colour" ... Ooh, look. Defined ...

Some detail

One of the Eucomis flower spikes just starting to open up.

Agapanthus ... we have three types. This is the taller darker blue one, and the only one still in flower. I'll have to take photographs of the others next year.

Is this a Kampsis? Whatever. It's just outside the kitchen window and it almost, and I do mean almost, encourages you to go do the washing up!

Our little flowerpot man, sitting on te edge of the pond where he belongs. Not in the pond where he was discoveredafer a pond cleaning session. Ooops.

Imperata Rubra ... just catching the sun through the leaves.
Blue Salvias at the back of the exotic border.

Ferne Austin ...
Canna go wrong with this (oohhh, sorry about the pun)
Lobelia.
They just happened to be like this ... all I had to do was point and shoot.
